| Older Workers Hired More Often in Today's Job Market |
|
From an Article printed in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution October 19, 2003, by Andrea Coombes/CBS Market Watch
The view on hiring older workers is changing as employers realize that members of this population are experienced and often can work flexible schedules. Companies find older workers appealing because they possess traditional work ethics and values that are generally found in good employees. The key to getting hired as an older worker is to believe that you will be hired. Employers surveyed for this article recommend that older workers enter an interview knowing that more and more companies are hiring from this group. By doing so, a confident and positive image are projected to the employer, which increases the chances of being hired.
