Counseling Services
Coosa Valley Technical College (CVTC) offers a variety of counseling services including assistance for future students who need information on how to become a CVTC student. Current CVTC students can access Counseling Services to obtain assistance with issues pertaining to their enrollment at CVTC.

Counseling Services include:

Individual Counseling and Crisis Intervention:
Occasionally, CVTC students are confronted with issues that can impede their success in college. These can include stress and anxiety, social and academic difficulties, and other issues that may result in the need for additional support. CVTC students are encouraged to contact Counseling Services for assistance with these matters.

Career Counseling:
Career Counseling is available for both current and future students and is extremely valuable for determining a program of study for which students are best suited. Career assessments and exploration activities can assist individuals in deciding on the most appropriate career path and on one that will result in a satisfying and rewarding work life.

Lunch and Learn Sessions:
Throughout each quarter, Counseling Services invites current students to bring a sack lunch to a fun and educational learning session that addresses such topics as decreasing stress and managing time more effectively. These sessions are interactive and allow students to learn in an informal and relaxing environment.

For more information on scheduled Lunch and Learn sessions, visit the Student Activities Page or CVTC's School Calendar. Or, email Karen Teems in Counseling Services or call (706) 295-6938.

Support Resources:
CVTC has resources on campus for those current students in need of assistance in removing potential barriers to school completion. These services include assistance with financial, academic, and career needs as well as help for students with special needs. More information can be obtained about these support services by emailing Jan Whatley, by calling (706) 295-6841, or by going to the Support Resources webpage.
