Dr. Teresa Resch Wins the Chamber of Commerce Woman of Excellence Award


On October 15, 2002, Dr. Teresa Resch, Director of Instructional Services at Coosa Valley Technical College, was awarded the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce Woman of Excellence award.

Dr. Resch was selected from a group of seven women. She was nominated by three Business Office Technology instructors at CVTC, Pam Kizziah, Cathy Vann, and Nancy Adams. The nominating instructors wrote, “Dr. Resch is an outstanding and accomplished professional. She is dedicated to excellence in all of her endeavors whether professional, personal, or community.”

As a true woman of excellence, Dr. Resch stays well rounded with a schedule full of family, education, community, and career. She obtained her Associate Degree in Applied Science of Radiologic Technology from Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Illinois before earning her Bachelor of Science in Vocational Studies with a specialization in Education, Training, and Development, and her Master of Science in Education Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She completed her Doctoral Degree in Occupational Studies at the University of Georgia last May.

Dr. Resch is also the mother of two grown children and enjoys traveling and being involved within her church. She is also highly active in many professional organizations and activities within the Rome community such as activities at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, board member of the Blue Ridge Area Health Education Center, and the Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Center Coalition.

Coosa Valley Technical College President Craig McDaniel said, “We are very proud of the recognition received by Teresa. She is very deserving of the award.”
