CVTC Announces New Vice Presidents

Dr. Teresa Resch
Vice President of Instructional Services
Coosa Valley Technical College President, Craig McDaniel is pleased to announce that the following selections have been made to fill the positions Vice President of Instructional Services for Coosa Valley Technical College and Vice President of Operations for the Gordon County Campus.

Dr. Teresa Resch has been selected as the Vice President of Instructional Services. “Dr. Resch's experience as program director and instructor, as well as her experience in program development, instructional supervision, and capital outlay planning and development during the construction of the new CVTC Health and Library Building has made her a valuable asset to our college,” stated President McDaniel. Dr. Resch will begin her new position September 1, 2003.

Dr. Resch received her Doctoral degree in Occupational Studies from the University of Georgia, her Master’s of Science degree in Education in Workforce and Development, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational Education Studies with a specialization in Education, Training, and Development from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Illinois, and her Associate degree in Applied Science of Radiologic Technology from Kaskaskia College, Centralia, Illinois.

Dr. Resch’s other educational achievements include: Quality Management Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Computer Tomography Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies; Mammography Certification from the American Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Registered Medical Sonographer in the Abdomen from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers; and Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Obstetric and Gynecology from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.

Her professional affiliations include: The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; The American Registry of Diagnostic Technologists; American Society of Radiologic of Radiologic Technologists; The Georgia Society of Radiologic Technologists; The Georgia Educators in of Association of Radiation and Medical Imaging; Greater Rome Area Society of Radiologics; and the Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education.

Dr. Resch’s professional awards include being selected as the “Woman of Excellence” in 2002 by the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce and ”Who’s Who Among American Teachers.”

Dan Willis has been selected as the new Vice President of Operations for the Gordon County Campus in Calhoun. Mr. Willis currently serves as Director of Program Development at North Metro Technical College in Acworth, Georgia. He has also served as Vice President of Operations for the Forsyth County Campus of Lanier Technical College in Cumming, Georgia. “We are fortunate to have someone with Dan Willis’s qualifications and experience joining Coosa Valley Technical College. He will be an integral part of CVTC with his leadership and commitment to the communities that CVTC serves in Gordon County,” President McDaniel stated. Mr. Willis will also assume his duties September 1, 2003.

Mr. Willis received his Specialist in Education degree in Business Education, Master’s of Education degree in Business Education, and his Bachelor of Science degree in
Education from State University of West Georgia. Willis received his Associate degree in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, Georgia.

His professional affiliations include the National Business Education Association, Board Member of Acworth Business Association, and South Forsyth Rotary.

With an average of 3,000 students a quarter, Coosa Valley Technical College is one of 34 technical colleges in the state of Georgia and is a unit of the Department of Adult and Technical Education, with campuses in Floyd, Gordon, and Polk County. CVTC is the only technical college in Georgia that has a campus facility in every county it serves in the Northwest area of the state.
