CVTC Construction Improves Water Drainage
Coosa Valley Technical College Floyd County Campus water drainage construction temporarily shut down a small section of Cedar Avenue in front of the school last week. School officials decided that before CVTC’s new Allied Health Building is constructed the storm water drainage system needed updating. This will also allow for 150 more parking spaces to accommodate the Allied Health Building due to start construction after its public groundbreaking on June 11th.

Coosa Valley Technical College provided the piping and material and the City of Rome provided construction on the east side of Cedar Avenue while Floyd County provided construction on the west side. The old 24-inch pipe beneath Cedar Avenue was replaced with two 48-inch pipes.

The school has experienced some flooding during heavy rainfall, and the construction will ensure safer parking lots, driving conditions around the school, and less water buildup.
