Coosa Valley Technical College Continues Strong Enrollment and Job Placement Trends
Coosa Valley Technical College began its 2003 Winter Quarter with 3,061 students, the second highest winter enrollment in the school’s 40 year history. The highest enrollment recorded at CVTC was 3090 in winter 2002.

“We are anticipating enrollment growth that will lead us to over 5,000 students in the next few years,” McDaniel continued. CVTC is currently adding a health occupations facility on the Floyd County Campus and an Economic Development facility on the Polk County Campus and is awaiting construction for Phase III of the Gordon County Campus.

With campuses in Floyd, Gordon and Polk counties, CVTC’s highest enrollments were in the Accounting, Business Office Technology, Industrial Electrical Technology, Practical Nursing and Computer Information Systems programs.

As important as enrollment is to Coosa Valley Technical College, the placement of students in jobs receives equal attention. This past fiscal year, 95 percent of the school’s graduates were employed in a field related to their education. “The true worth of CVTC is measured by the number of people we put into the job market,” McDaniel concluded.
