CVTC Audit Results in No Findings
The Georgia Department of Audits returned its final report of its annual audit of Coosa Valley Technical College with no findings. The college manages a budget in excess of 15 million dollars, which includes state, federal and locally generated funds. The 2002 audit was more comprehensive in nature than in past years due to the college’s forthcoming application to the Commission on College’s for accreditation.

“COC requires a comprehensive audit of applying institutions, and the college has now met that requirement,” according to Terry Williamson, vice president of administrative services.

The college served over 9,000 students in credit and non-credit programs in 2002. The 40-year-old institution has campuses in Floyd, Gordon and Polk counties and is faced with growth unlike any in its history.

“Mr. Williamson and his staff have done an excellent job of managing our finances during a time of unprecedented enrollment growth and capital expansion and are to be commended,” said CVTC president, Craig McDaniel.
