Rockmart Middle School Students Visit CVTC More than 250 Rockmart Middle Students spent the morning at CVTC (Coosa Valley Technical College), recently, learning more about technical education. The Polk School District (PSD) held a Career Rally for middle school students on the Rockmart campus of Coosa Valley Technical College. This event gave the students the opportunity to tour the campus and learn more about how the classes they are taking in middle school and high school relate to their post-secondary education and future careers. The Rockmart High School vocational teachers were on hand to introduce the students to the many programs of vocational training available when the students register for high school.
PSD Vocational Director, Katie Couch and CVTC Career Transition Specialist April Welch organized this special event. “The Career Rally was a wonderful chance for the students to learn more about the vocational opportunities at RHS,” stated April Welch. “It was also an opportunity to show the students how their high school coursework makes the transition to CVTC and other technical colleges seamless and effortless.”
