As Executive Assistant to the President, Popham was responsible for maintaining and coordinating the daily activities and efficient functions of the president’s office. She served as the liaison between the president and the local board of directors. Popham was also responsible for planning special events on the campus including the yearly legislative breakfast/luncheon, the legislative appreciation day, Coosa Valley Technical College board of directors’ meetings, annual golf tournament fund raiser to benefit the CVTC Foundation, coordinating and attending the Executive Committee meetings, maintaining the financial records for the Foundation, and maintaining the President’s schedule, support services, and the confidentiality of the office. Popham worked with the Director of Institutional Effectiveness on matters associated with CVTC’s accreditation. Popham has also taught several credit classes for Coosa Valley Technical College and continuing education classes for CVTC’s Office of Economic Development. These classes included Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Introduction to Computers, Windows 95, Windows 98, and Internet Concepts.

As Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Popham will be responsible for designing and executing a plan for maintaining accredited status for CVTC and preparing the accreditation files for audit. Coosa Valley Technical College is accredited by Council on Occupational Education (COE) and Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (COC). Popham will coordinate the development of the technical college's program goals, objectives, policies and standards for quality assurance for the missions and purposes of the instructional services department and ensure implementation through department staff planning. The Director of Institutional Effectiveness will coordinate and oversee the strategic planning process of the college. Popham will also analyze and assess the effectiveness of existing programs.

“Heidi has been involved in every facet of our college’s accreditation achievements and has a working knowledge of each area of the school’s operations,” stated McDaniel. “She is professional and represents the core mission of our college as well as anyone I have worked with. Her work ethic, attitude, and intelligence have earned her the respect of our staff, faculty, and board of directors, as well as her peers throughout the state. She will serve Coosa Valley Technical College very well as the Director of Institutional Effectiveness.”
