High School Leadership Rome Visits Coosa Valley Technical College Recently Coosa Valley Technical College hosted a group from High School Leadership Rome. The group toured the Student Success Center and the new Video Production department, which includes the “green screen” studio and the editing room.
High School Leadership Rome is a leadership program consisting of local sophomores and juniors from our area high schools. It is supported by the Leadership Rome Alumni Association and is designed to develop future leaders in the Rome and Floyd County area. The program consists of: • Orientation/Team Building at Berry College Ropes Course • Six sessions of approximately five hours each including: Economic Development/Transportation, Healthcare, Industry/Business and Media, Education/Library, Law/Government and Quality of Life • Graduation Each session is conducted by authorities in the field, on-site, making the sessions fun and informative. Discussions are held that are designed to enlighten the participants on situations and opportunities in the Greater Rome Area. Through this program knowledge is gained about the assets as well as challenges in the Greater Rome Area. The goal of High School Leadership Rome is to enlighten the student’s awareness of our community and encourage a more active leadership role in Rome and Floyd County.
