Coosa Valley Technical College (CVTC) recently announced the students who have been chosen as finalists for the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL).

Forty-five students were nominated by their instructors to compete at the local level, which included GOAL nominees from the Floyd, Gordon, and Polk County Campuses of CVTC. The judges rated the students based on their interview performance. Four local GOAL winners were selected based on a combination of their interview scores, academic grades, and an instructor evaluation. The four finalists and their nominating instructors are:
Teresa Morang (Accounting) – Nominating Instructor: Stanley Walker Joe Nowak (Automated Manufacturing) – Nominating Instructor: Bill Scoggin Patrick O’Ferrall (Respiratory Care) – Nominating Instructor: Donna Andrews Darla Royer (Criminal Justice Technology) – Nominating Instructor: Tom Bojo
The four local winners will be interviewed by a selection committee chosen by the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce. One local GOAL winner will receive a $500 scholarship from Seven Hills Rotary Club and will compete at the state GOAL competition in May. The local winner will be announced at the Seven Hills Rotary Club meeting at Coosa Country Club on March 8, 2005. ###
