Sheila is one who seized the opportunity to continue her education when the plant where she worked closed its doors—a familiar scenario to many area residents. She says, “It’s something I always wanted to do but never did….It was the perfect opportunity for me to get my GED.” You will see Sheila on campus now hitting the books during lunch breaks and between classes.
In addition to the leadership development sessions during EAGLE, participants will hear from DTAE Commissioner, Mike Vollmer; Interim Assistant Commissioner for Adult Literacy, Anthony Parker; and Board Member and Chairman of the Adult Literacy Committee, Roy Bowen. Delegates will be honored at a celebration dinner on Tuesday, February 21.
