The generosity of Coosa Valley Technical College students, faculty, and staff was evident with the collection of $1500 to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Donations were collected for three days by CVTC staffers Brenda Maddox and Debra Godfrey.

The donation was presented by Terry Williamson, Vice President of Administrative Services, Patrick O’Ferrall, Respiratory student and Mark Upton, Marketing Management Instructor. Accepting the donation was Terri Cook, Executive Director of the Coosa Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.

As of October 6, 2005, our local Red Cross has assisted 812 families with over $685,000 in aid. The Coosa Valley chapter of the American Red Cross services the areas of Floyd, Gordon, Polk, Chattooga, and Bartow counties.
