8. Where will my classes be held?
Physics didactic courses will be held at Regional Radiation Oncology Center at Rome, with all other didactic courses being held at the Floyd County Main Campus at Coosa Valley Technical College. The learning opportunities of each clinical site, needs of the student, match between student and clinical site personality, needs of other students and closeness to home are all partial considerations.

3. Apply for the Diploma Program waiting list for the Radiation Therapy Program.

Degree students can enter directly from high school if their grades and test scores are high enough.

It is very difficult to work while in the Radiation Therapy Program. Most students have some type of part time employment but those few who work full time are quite stressed and do not do as well academically. Remember that Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm clinical/5:00 pm classes the student should plan on having school commitments. Once clinical has started drive time is added to that schedule.

The faculty of CVTC is extremely busy but do want to give good and correct information to every individual who wants to know more concerning Radiation Therapy. CVTC has set up Health Program Information meetings for people who want more information either in general or for Radiation Therapy in particular. One of the Radiation Therapy staff attends or hosts each of these meetings. They are your best opportunity to tour the facility, ask questions and get your questions answered face to face.
17. I don’t live in Rome. Do I need to move?
Coosa Valley Technical College does not offer any dormitories.

If you do need to move, housing in Rome is less expensive than housing in Atlanta. Even so, most students do not move to Rome but continue to reside in their hometowns.

Classes are scheduled so that the students come to Rome two (2) days in a row each week and then go to clinical somewhere close to their home on the other days. Many students find they can car pool or stay over with a classmate.
