Vascular Student 1
Diploma Program - Vascular:
A full-time, competency based, day program

6 quarters - 18 months

NEXT START DATE - September 2007

Pre-requisite:
Prior Medical program or Bachelors Degree + Core classes

Associate of Applied Technology Degree - Vascular:
A full-time, competency based, day program

2 quarters of Core + 6 quarters program classes

We are currently accepting applications and scheduling core classes for students in all programs. Students who have completed all core classes may ask to have their name placed on the program's waiting list.

Didactic classes will be scheduled at Coosa Valley Technical College each week in block time. Clinical training is scheduled the days opposite classes. Clinical sites are scheduled throughout North Georgia, North East Alabama, and South East Tennessee.
RVT - Vascular Sonography
Vascular Sonographers typically work in hospitals, clinics & doctors offices. They are most often associated with the vascular surgery departments and most often have their studies interpreted by vascular surgeons. The range of exams includes: Ultrasound imaging exams of the carotid arteries, arteries and veins of the arms & legs, and the arterial system of the abdomen. Also indirect, non-imaging examinations of the peripheral arterial system.

Coosa Valley Technical College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRCDMS).

All students who complete the program successfully are eligible and encouraged to sit for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification exams for "Vascular Physical Principles & Instrumentation" & "Vascular Technology" (RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist)
