Pre-requisite: Prior Medical program or Bachelor's Degree
We are currently accepting applications and scheduling core classes for students in all programs. Students who have completed all core classes may ask to have their name placed on the program's waiting list.
Didactic classes will be scheduled at Coosa Valley Technical College each week in block time. Clinical training is scheduled the days opposite classes. Clinical sites are scheduled throughout North Georgia, North East Alabama, and South East Tennessee.

RDMS - General Sonography
|
General Sonographers typically work in hospitals, clinics & doctors offices. They are most often associated with the radiology departments and have their studies interpreted by radiologists. The range of exams includes: abdominal studies, obstetrical studies, gynecologic studies, superficial exams such as breast, thyroid & scrotal, some interventional exams, and some vascular exams such as carotids, venous legs and abdominal Doppler.

| Accreditation |
Coosa Valley Technical College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRCDMS).

| Certification Exams |
All students who complete the program successfully are eligible and encouraged to sit for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification exams for Abdominal, Ob/Gyn and Physics.
