UPDATE!: Construction is underway at the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport in Rome, Georgia for the Coosa Valley Technical College Aviation Training Center. Construction is expected to wrap up in June 2008 and the inaugural Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) and Avionics Maintenance Technology (AVT) classes will start Fall Quarter 2008 (September).
Currently, Coosa Valley Technical College is going through certification with the Federal Aviation Administration (Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations [CFR] Federal Aviation Regulations [FAR] Part 147) to offer the Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) and Avionics Maintenance Technology (AVT) programs.
Graduates of the AMT program will be eligible to test on-site for the FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification at our planned affiliated testing center.
Graduates of the AVT program can test for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) General Radiotelephone Operators License (GROL) on-site in our planned testing center.
Both programs will be offered at our new Aviation Training Center at the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport in Rome.
